PATRIOT3 ARON M80 WING IN GROUND WIG CRAFT

The Patriot3 WIG M80 is a cutting-edge Wing-In-Ground (WIG) craft that merges the speed and agility of aviation with the fuel efficiency and low infrastructure demands of a marine vessel. It operates just above the water surface, leveraging the ground-effect phenomenon to achieve exceptional performance in maritime and near-shore environments.

With a maximum speed of up to 155 mph (≈250 km/h) and a cruising range of 350 nautical miles (≈650 km) (upgradeable to 525 nm/≈972 km), the WIG M80 delivers rapid deployment, supply, personnel or equipment transport, and mission-flexible capabilities across vast maritime zones.

Designed for versatility, the craft accommodates multiple mission profiles, from defence/sovereign maritime operations, search & rescue (SAR) and coast guard surveillance, to remote logistics and offshore platform support.

FEATURES

High-Speed Ground-Effect Performance
Operates in Wing-In-Ground (WIG) mode at speeds up to 155 mph (250 km/h), offering rapid maritime transport far faster than conventional vessels.

Exceptional Range & Efficiency
Standard cruising range of 350 nautical miles (≈650 km) with an optional 525 nm (≈972 km) upgrade. Uses 25% less fuel than helicopters and 70% less than comparable boats when in WIG mode.

Shallow-Water & Low-Infrastructure Operation
Launches and lands in as little as 1 m (3 ft) of water. Requires no major port or runway infrastructure — ideal for remote and undeveloped coastal environments.

Low Radar Signature & Stealth Profile
Operates at extremely low altitude (max 150 m/492 ft), reducing radar cross-section and providing a tactical advantage for defence and coast guard operations.

Advanced Composite Construction
Built with lightweight, corrosion-resistant composites and minimal moving parts, reducing maintenance overhead compared to traditional aviation or marine systems.

Globally Supported Powerplant
Powered by the proven Pratt & Whitney PT6A engine family, with established service networks in more than 100 countries.

Versatile, Mission-Ready Interior Options
Standard configuration seats up to 8 passengers with multiple optional layouts:
  • Cargo transport
  • Medical evacuation / ambulance configuration
  • Coast Guard & SAR
  • Defence & military mission fit-outs
Fully customisable for user-specific operational requirements.

Flexible Handling & Storage
Detachable wings, trailer-transportable design and built-in lifting points allow easy deployment, transport, and compact storage.

IMO Ship Classification
Classified as a ship by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), simplifying some operational requirements versus aircraft regulations.

Multi-Role Capability Across All Maritime Sectors
Ideal for:
  • Defence and special operations
  • Maritime patrol and border surveillance
  • Search & rescue (SAR)
  • Offshore platform support
  • Remote island logistics
  • Commercial and emergency service application

Why This Matters for Australian Operations
  • Australia’s vast coastline, remote islands and offshore platforms mean rapid, cost-effective transport solutions are in demand.

  • The WIG craft can access shallow water and remote marine environments where conventional vessels or helicopters may face limitations.

  • Fuel-efficiency and lower maintenance requirements align with budgetary pressures in defence/maritime sectors, as well as emergency services and logistics for mining or offshore industries.

  • The craft’s adaptability makes it suitable for sovereign maritime patrol, coast guard operations, search & rescue operations across remote regions (for example in northern Australia, the Torres Strait, and island chains).

  • Minimal infrastructure requirement means faster deployment and less reliance on large ports or helipads, critical in remote or undeveloped zones.

Care and Storage Instructions
